Shreddin the gnar!

This makes me happy :)

So I've been doing a much better job at actually accepting the sub jobs when they call that I decided to treat myself to a day on the mountain. That and Anna was stoked on it and well Utah might have gotten 7 feet but we got 5.5 feet so if I was ever going to try skiing/riding in So Cal now was my chance!

Anna and I finally decided on Snow Summit (Big Bear) and we also decided to pick up the hitch hiker on the side of the road aka Mark. jk Mark is Rachelle's husband :) Everyone said I'd hate skiing locally after being spoiled in Utah but it wasn't bad. The 3 of us had a blast together! It was so nice to be back out on a mountain with fresh snow, great company and a nice blue-bird day. It was just what I needed!

Mark and I giving our legs a well deserved break! This was everyone's first day out snowboarding for the season. Yes, I've skied but the muscles are sooooo much different and mine are apparently very out of shape!

I love this picture of Anna! (Duddy it kinda reminds me of the picture I took of you in NZ) I seriously think we should import a lake down in the valley of Utah because it just makes the view that much prettier! And don't even suggest the Great Salt Lake!!!

Herding the livestock back to their cars! When I used to load the trams at Snowbird people would make moo-ing noises...clearly they've never been to Snow Summit! I opted to walk despite the lack of feeling in my feet and legs.

...and this was our view on our way down the mountain.

What a beautiful end to a fabulous day!

Ski Trip

So I just got back from another amazing trip to Utah! Every time I go, I question moving back!

This trip was a little different because I flew in with my parents and therefore had to share the car with them...hence the many trips to Deer Valley not Snowbird, and not being able to get around and see everyone. I'm really sorry if I didn't get a chance to see you! We all know I'll be back soon!

Here I am with the folks skiing my mom's favorite runs over off Empire. I swear it's like a bunny hill! Thank goodness for twin tips :)

Christmas Day

Merry (belated) Christmas!!!

I was really stoked this year because a) I'm done with school and b) it was our turn for everyone to spend Christmas day with us! It just makes things so much more exciting to have everyone over for some good old fashioned family time! Love ya!

Some of my favorite presents:

Santa brought Nathan a Captain Rex helmet. This might have been my favorite toy because to watch this little kid try and walk around the house the rest of the day was hilarious!!! Oh and did I mention the helmet talks! Absolutely hysterical!

Ashleigh passed down her stroller to Kaleigh. We both used to play with this and had sooo much fun! It's nice to see these toys being passed down. Thanks mom for keeping it :)

Laura got a new helmet for the ski slopes! Watch out now Deer Valley ;)

Armstrong's Nativity

We've started another tradition for Christmas Eve where we create our own nativity. It's rather sad in the fact that we only have 4 grandkids. I played the role of the angel and spared you guys a picture! Below we have a couple wise men, Joseph, Mary and Baby Jesus. I especially love the fact that Kaleigh went from playing the role of Baby Jesus last year to Mary this year. It really shows how much you can move up in life ;)

Ashleigh's Bday

During the Christmas season, the Armstrongs like to extend quality family time out as long as possible. We start with my sister's bday which is the day before Christmas Eve. We've started a tradition of going bowling so the kiddies can enjoy in the celebration as well.

Here I am with my beautiful sister! She is an amazing example to me and I can only hope to be half as good at being a mom as she is. Love ya Ash!!!

I just love having 2 nieces!
